Rachel Unthank And The Winterset

Rabble Rouser Music choose blast to mix the follow up to Rachel Unthank's award winning album "Cruel Sister"

Rabble Rouser Music have booked in some time to mix the highly anticipated follow up album from Rachel Unthank and the Winterset. The follow up album as yet untitled, was recorded over Christmas and New Year 06/07 and is sure to find the band reaping yet more rewards and airplay.

The first album from the band won the Mojo Folk Album of the year award in 2005, garnering comments from the mag like "joyous...refreshingly forthright and in-yer-face", proving that traditional music can be commercially successful without being watered down.

Recorded on a shoe-string budget, Cruel Sister captured honest performances, using basic production values to create a listening experience akin to being in the same room as the performers. The album has won them affection from folk purists, the mainstream music world and from leftfield music circles alike, inspiring the likes of Phil Jupitus to broadcast unaccompanied mining songs on daytime BBC 6 Music.

Combining integrity with imagination, Rachel Unthank & The Winterset defy the logic that staunch tradition and sonic adventure are surely virtues polls apart.
