Creative Partnership
Our engineers are passionate about music. We have decades of production experience behind the desk, and have worked extensively as musicians and touring professionals for some of the world’s biggest artists.
We can help shape arrangements, bring out your best performances and transform your songs into records.
Major Label Sound
Purpose-built as a professional studio facility, our acoustically-designed spaces are paired with industry-standard gear trusted by the world’s best.
At the heart of the control room is an SSL AWS 900 +, supported by an extensive mic collection and a wide range of modern and vintage instruments, amps, and outboard.
Alongside the main studio, a dedicated mixing suite offers the perfect environment for focused production work, while a well stocked kitchen and comfortable lounge provide the space to relax, recharge, and keep creativity flowing.
Prime Location
Newcastle offers you a world-class recording environment away from the chaos or cost of the capital.
Based in Ouseburn – the city’s creative district – our studio is surrounded by boutique hotels, independent coffee shops, buzzing bars, restaurants, and live venues. It’s a place where artists come not just to record, but to immerse themselves in a neighbourhood built on culture, energy, and inspiration.
Getting here is easy too – we’re less than 15 minutes from Newcastle Airport and 10 minutes from Newcastle Central Station, with artist pickup available.
When the session’s done, the wider region is waiting, from the wild beauty of our countryside and coastline, to landmarks and cities with a rich and vibrant history. The North East offers something for everyone.
From independently-released singles to full-length commercial albums, here’s a selection of projects recorded and mixed in our studio:
Designed by White Mark Ltd (Abbey Road, Real World), our studio combines precision acoustics with a versatile live room.
At the heart sits an SSL AWS 900 console with Neve preamps, boutique outboard, and world-class monitoring.
Built for records that translate everywhere.
A smaller, acoustically focused room designed for mixing and mastering on Adam S3As and a KRK sub.
With in-house guitars, synths and more at your fingertips, it’s also a creative space for writing and production.
The Mix Suite is ideal for overdubs, editing, or smaller projects running alongside main studio sessions.
Now based in London, Kate Bond came to us as a solo singer-songwriter. We helped build a band around her comprising drums, bass, guitar, keys and saxophone, producing, arranging and recording everything during her time in Newcastle. She quickly became one of the most promising artists in Newcastle's Neo-soul scene, playing to packed venues and being featured in publications such as Vogue and Wonderland. Kate has performed at festivals like Kendal Calling, received support from BBC Introducing, and her songs have been played on BBC Radio One. Check out her single Divide and Rule here.
PhD student Alex Faulkner came in to record a single track for fun, and ended up leaving with a 10-song album. We developed his sound by building a band around him and creating exciting, punchy arrangements with the energy of early Green Day. Check it out here.

Yes – we are all multi-instrumentalists, so can cover a lot of bases. However, if you are a solo artist and want to work with a band, we can book reliable, experienced players if your project needs extra instrumentation.
We plan carefully before you record – pairing you with the right producer, sharing references, agreeing the direction together and making sure we understand the sound you’re aiming for. In the studio we work collaboratively, allowing space to experiment and refine until your music feels right. Our goal is always to make sure you leave with a recording you’re proud of.
Not at all — you can record as few or as many songs as you like. We’ll discuss your project in detail to tailor the sessions around your goals and make sure you get the best value for your time and money.
A tight band will be able to get through 4 songs quicker than 5 days, but we recommend 5 days so that we can really dial in sounds, experiment with arrangements and make the song as great as it can be.
That said, we tailor all quotes to your needs. Book a call with Andy to discuss further! Follow this link to book: https://calendly.com/blast-recording.com
